How we operate

FinnAust Mining Finland Oy is a mineral exploration company that in its research uses pre-existing data and implements new research on our exploration permit areas. Digitizing and reprocessing old data allows us to review the areas that are known for their ore potential in a new perspective. Additionally, new research provides valuable information about the bedrock and the soil. This information can be utilized for other purposes than only mineral exploration. Most of the work is carried out at the office using computer modelling or by sample handling. Fieldwork in mineral exploration is seasonal and normally limited to relatively small project areas. Fieldwork comprises of for example boulder hunting and bedrock mapping, geophysical surveys, deep diamond drilling and top of bedrock drill sampling. Before any mapping or surveys are conducted the company informs the locals and the landowners about the work and its duration. Any work that requires the use of machinery is separately agreed on with the landowners.

When carrying out fieldwork we respect the property of others, the surrounding nature, and expect similar actions from our partners and contractors. The custom of working together is built on sustainability and safety. At the worksite the execution of these principles is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer and the geologists of the company. Places such as protected nature areas and national parks are left outside the exploration permit already in the application process.

The company has two full-time geologists. During field season and projects, the company employs students of geosciences. In our projects we use local expertise and services and work with local operators.
